Ivy’s best friend is Queen Sardine. That she is a talking cat is Ivy’s big secret! Queen Sardine is adored by all the cats in the neighbourhood until a new cat named Princess Persia moves in one day. Already on the two cats‘ first encounter, Ivy realizes that trouble is in the air. Princess Persia is extremely friendly towards Benny. But Benny is secretely loved by Queen Sardine. So this impertinent rival needs a lesson about who is the true leader of the cats!

Meanwhile Ivy and her friend Kei experience hard times at school. Marcy, their new classmate, constantly wants to boss them around. Maybe Queen Sardine should come to know Princess Persia better. And this seems to be also true for Ivy, Kei and Marcy!

Kate Willis-Crowley is a children’s book illustrator living on the Kent coast. She is a graduate of the Royal College of Art in London and of the University of Reading. Much of Kate’s inspiration comes from having worked with children, mixed with her own memories of childhood; she now has her very own toddler to spark her imagination. Queen Sardine is her debut children’s fiction book. She has previously illustrated a picture book for Chicken House (Mummy’s Little Monster) and two for Hodder (Jack and Jill and Mary Had a Little Lamb).
