When Poppy was a baby, she was pulled out of a top hat. Since then she has never wanted to be anywhere else but in a circus. After all, her best friend is a tame lion and juggling and tightrope walking are her favorite subjects! But shortly before her twelfth birthday, circus manager and fortuneteller Madame Pym takes a decision. It’s high time that Poppy attended a normal school and found some friends of the same age.
Together with her new friends Ingrid and Kip, Poppy adapts to her new life in the boarding school, but not all teachers are amused about her acrobatic stunts. However, not only Poppy but also an Egyptian exposition cause a stir. A mysterious ruby which is exposed there is said to be accursed. And when this ruby vanishes without a trace, it is not only Poppy and her new friends who want to solve the mystery!
This book is suitable for readers aged 8 and 12.
