Katherine Rundell spent her childhood in Africa and Europe. After completing a degree course in English and a doctorate on the literary and textual afterlives of John Donne, she is now a Fellow of All Souls College, Oxford, where she studies Renaissance literature and climbs old buildings at night.
Emily Sutton graduated in 2008 from Edinburgh College of Art, having also studied at York College and for a semester at the Rhode Island School of Design. As well as illustrating picture books, she paints, sculpts and designs prints.
